Fair enough. It's not complicated. The PPC platform IS abandoned, and you are not costing 2D Boy market-share accept by staying with your old hardware - so does that mean we should all stay with the current Mac system just to make sure we are doing right by content creators? Be smart about this. This isn't a legalistic issue, it is an issue of appreciation of the creators of the app themselves and if you really want to - you can by a newer version whether you ever use it or not - to send some money their way.

An example of a game that is much older than even Goo but which is still available for purchase would be Spacestation Pheta. The shareware version of the game is provided here, but we also provide a link back to the publisher to register. No one is outraged, but the year "rule" is just a guideline, to the best of my understanding.

To me, the real test is whether the software is abandoned or not, which Goo clearly is not. I'm ultimately not the one who makes these decisions, but it seems 2D Boy would be well within their rights to ask to have this removed. Well considering the hundreds of games on this site - from Doom to Peggle that are still available in one form or another, on some platform, it's nice to know this game warrants a special level of fake outrage from the gallery.
