Parameter 2 the exception address should identify the driver or function that caused this problem. If the bug check message lists a driver by name , disable or remove that driver. Also, disable or remove any drivers or services that were recently added. If the error occurs during the startup sequence and the system partition is formatted with NTFS file system, you might be able to use Safe Mode to rename or delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the system startup process in Safe Mode, you have to start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.
If the problem is associated with Win32k. Check the System Log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver that is causing bug check 0x1E. You can disable memory caching of the BIOS to try to resolve the error.
You should also run hardware diagnostics, especially the memory scanner, that the system manufacturer supplies. For more information about these procedures, see the owner's manual for your computer. The error that generates this message can occur after the first restart during Windows Setup, or after Setup is finished. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and system BIOS incompatibilities.
For problems during Windows installation that are associated with lack of disk space, reduce the number of files on the target hard disk drive. Check for and delete any temporary files that you do not have to have, Internet cache files, application backup files, and. You can also use another hard disk drive with more free space for the installation. If needed Windows Vista automatically restarts if your PC encounters an error that causes it to crash. If you could give the Blue Screen info that would help.
Such as the BCC and the other 4 entries on the lower left. Stop: 0x oxoooooooo oxoooooooo oxooooooooo oxoooooooo tcpip. Does not tell all the possible driver issues.

Tuesday, June 24, PM. Wednesday, June 25, AM. Saturday, June 28, PM. Hi fellows, Its been a while since i came on this forum. Plug in the power cord. Hope this helps. Thursday, July 3, PM. Hopefully you should not face any more problems.
Saturday, July 5, AM. Please mail me if you have solution for the problem. Saturday, July 5, PM. Thanks Sanjeev. Hi I got my Toshiba satellite last year for my birthday and have had nothing but trouble with live messenger since I got it, to the point where I've had to eave it off line all the time so people cant try to contact me. It hasn't mattered because it always stops responding after a little while anyway even though I'm not actively using it.
Even hotmail has been a problem! I've just uninstalled those as someone suggested so hopefully that will help. More recently I installed SP1 and my programs started randomly closing, no warning or error message they just closed, again it asked if I wanted to search for a solution online bt that has never worked even once. Then yesterday I started getitng blue screens. The only changes I'd made before were installnig new RAM, I installed 2GB because on 1GB it used to get so hot the air blown out would burn me and it even smelt like it was burning glue.
It's not getting nearly as hot since upgrading the RAM. The following day I installed SP1 and that's when all the real problems seemed to start. Also use AVG. Almost everyone who's posted a fix has mentioned one of these problems so does anyone have any idea which is going to be most likely to be the problem? I really have no idea where to start I've had two BSODs today, so far, although not had one for half hour. The last one I had only just restarted after doing a memory check and hadn't even touched anything since it had booted into my desktop.
Sunday, July 6, PM. I forgot to mention! When I installed SP1 my sound icon and a couple of other buttons disappeared from my tool bar! I had some sounds muted at the time and now cant get them back because windows defender wont classify the volumecontrol. It also seems to be blocking it's own botton now! Will uninstalling SP1 cause me even more issues thatn I'm already having?
Any1 know how to unistall adobe reader 8. Tuesday, July 8, AM. Hey Wizwoz, the best option right now is to go ahead and remove the SP1 from the comp.
To do this go to safe mode and then remove it. I believe the sp1 did not install properly on your computer. And the next time you get the bsod try to get the information on it and post it here which will give us more information. Saturday, July 12, AM. Try going to safe mode to remove the adobe from the comp.
Also try to note down the bsod message and post it here which will give us more info. Hello Guys, I bought new Dell inspiron I with vista basic. I was running Adobe 9. Saturday, July 12, PM. Monday, July 21, AM. I could really use some help. My computer has become unusable because of the constant crashing and blue screens.
I have gotten several different error reports. Sometimes it happens during startup, other times after a few minutes of use, other times not for close to an hour of use. Any help would be appreciated. I am running an Intel Core 2 1. My motherboard is a Gigabyte PDS3. I am using Vista bit with SP1. Here are the 4 different blue screens I have seen Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more information let me know.
Friday, July 25, AM. Wednesday, July 30, PM. Hey slikazsilk13, The BSOD that you are getting is because the operating system is not installed properly. Sunday, August 10, AM. Tuesday, August 12, AM. Eventually I realized it was Commodo's Firewall fault Saturday, August 30, AM.
Friday, September 19, AM. Wednesday, October 8, PM. Wednesday, October 15, PM. Monday, November 10, AM. The same problems happened to me numerous times. Sometimes I didn't even have to do anything to have the system suddenly turned into blue screen. I have read through all the replies in this thread and I have yet the answer to my recurring problem. I don't have this sort of problems with XP though.
I really hope that Microsoft will fix this bug soon. I don't think the users are willing to go through the blue screen error keep recurring everytime. I am one of the technical support in my organisation and we have acquired quite a number of computers with Vista installed as the OS. What do I tell my users? Thursday, November 13, AM. It is the handiwork of the Devil and should be sent back to him. The only things that worked are listed above. Even if it were incompatible device drivers, doesn't MS certify them after extensive testing?
What good is an expensive operating system that is incompatable with common device drivers? Optional Commentary - read if you have time or care to. Aero is a useless, silly, play-pretty gimmick designed to appear to be a new and important and usefull feature thereby justifying the cost of Vista, but is in reality the work of the Devil's own coders working under exclusive contract to Microsoft.
Almost without fail, It causes vomit-provoking crashes at the worst possible moment, usually in Word or Excel, and sometimes in Outlook, or other applications. If you listen closely you can hear the distant echo of Satan's hideous, metalic laughter every time the BSOD appears.
Long ago BSOD should have been relegated to the archive of history's bad memories, but like the '57 Edsel, Microsoft can't seem to let this one go. Maybe if Melinda made him sleep on the couch every time she got a BSOD while fixing cucumber sandwiches in the kitchen it would finally be fixed once and for all.
Are you listening Melinda? Can you help us?? Microsoft needs to please just make an operating system that just works, like a '60 VW bug. Rock-solid and reliable.
No cutsie or flashy stuff, just good basic programming focused on hard-core reliability and stability. XP was much more user friendly and condusive to actually doing work without the cardiac-arresting experience of freezes or BSOD's. Vista is a neon mess, so unnecessarily confusing and incredibly incomprehensible, even to pretty skilled users.
Sorry Microsoft, these are just the facts. I don't mind paying for MS products, but I expect reliability, especially when I am in the midst of a critical project. No more freezes or BSODs.
You have had enough time to build a good product. Projectile vomiting every time a BSOD pops up on the screen is not a good habit for your customers to develop, it is especially hard on monitors and keyboards and the sanity of users.
Friday, November 28, PM. I deleted adobe viewer, no change. I changed all of the power shutdown options off regarding sleep mode to never.
I then uninstalled ZONE alarm. I now get faster boot ups and the computer shuts down fairly quickly. I think Zone alarm was the culprit for me. Have not had a blue screen for three days, when I used to get one almost everytime I tried shutting down, if it would let me shutdown at all from the menu bar. Monday, December 1, AM. I use System Optimizer suite. Of cause if use it on a regular basis. Edited by wayangtong Tuesday, December 23, AM wrong code.
Tuesday, December 23, AM. Saturday, January 31, AM. Saturday, April 25, PM. Hi everyone! I too have been getting BSOD's lately. The funny thing about my Vista Ultimate bit is that the I only get the blue screens on one of the two accounts I have on my pc. Naturally it's the account with all the programs and games installed. I've already tried removing all the updates and installations of late as well as all Adobe software. I'm totally at loss here Google says it might be a faulty memory module.
Why would the system work with one account and not the other if it were a HW fault? Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures.
