Autodesk mapguide 6.5 server error 500

Message 4 of 9. What OS are you using? Message 5 of 9. This happened to me about 6 months ago after a Windows XP Pro update on my development machine. I spent quite a bit of time trying to get MapGuide to work including rolling back the Windows Updates, etc. I ended up deleting the Windows User Profile where the problem existed and building a new profile from scratch.

This was painful and took awhile to get things working the way I wanted them to, and necesitated downloading and re-installing of the Windows updates and security patches but was less painful then having to completely reinstall the OS and restore from backups. Check to see if MapGuide will start under a different Windows profile to see if your problem might be along the same lines.

Spatial Integrators, Inc. Message 6 of 9. XP Pro. Message 7 of 9. Not to beat a dead horse but, While it may run on a workstation OS there is the increased possibility of a failure occurring. Anyway, we updated Author with this new version and now the Server, but the server has crashed. We keep getting a Server error , and that the Map Agent can't be found. I've tried everything I can think of; I installed the new server platform, copied over the existing mapagents with the new one, installed the new pluggin and re-authored our map with the latest version.

Still no luck. The server seems to be running correctly, the service is working and the server isn't giving errors. Has anyone else had this problem? The only thing left that i can do, is to do a rollback to the previous version.

Please let me know, currently our customers are without service. Message 2 of 4. Kent, For Server , this is likely an issue with premissions on the mapagent folder.

Check the virtual folder for your mapguide agent as it likely needs to have permissions set to: Read, and Execute Permissions: Scripts and Executables, and App Protection: Medium Pooled I'm assuming the Web Service Extensions are setup correctly?

Message 2 of 7. I think this has more to do with permission on your web directory where mapagents are placed. Message 3 of 7. Hi, It's a shame nobody from Autodesk give an explanation about this "install bug". There was a time Mapguide was really an easy install sofware, so we ran the install and it was running even without reboot.

I am talking about MG 4, 5 and 6. Yes, the problem is about Permission's. It than worked fine! Message 4 of 7. I'm not sure I would pin this problem on Autodesk Rather, Microsoft has tightened up secuirty in Internet Information Services over the last few releases resulting in manual configuration changes being necessary when integrating other software.

Getting MapGuide to work with Windows Server requires even more manual configuration. Spatial Integrators, Inc. It's install script where "intelligent" and adapted to the Operating System. As a result, the MapTip ends after the owner's first name or the point of the NULL value the last name is not displayed. There are workarounds for NULL values with some data providers. Please note that not all databases or database drivers behave similarly.

DWFs are intended to be used as background images, in much the same way that DWG files were used in previous releases. This is not an issue for most maps. However, if your application demands a higher degree of precision, you can increase the size of the virtual DWF paper by setting the appropriate DPI and paper size before you publish to DWF.

When converting multiple images to TIFF format, you must convert one image at a time. Raster Workshop does not support multiple-image processing. A temporary file exists during processing. The original DWG file will remain unchanged after the process is completed. If you convert a file containing a polyline or polygon feature that has more than 65, vertices, SDF Loader generalizes the feature to use no more than 65, vertices. The maximum vertices for a feature made up of polypolylines or polypolygons is 2,, Also the number of primitives in a polypolyline or a polypolygon cannot exceed 65, Generalization will also not be performed on a polypolyline or polypolygon when the number of vertices exceeds 2,, You can use the CSV file to populate a database table which can then be used to create point and text layers in Autodesk MapGuide.

The Dynamic Authoring Toolkit cannot delete temporary files from the host machine where a web or stand-alone application instantiates the Dynamic Authoring Toolkit unless the users or group who access the host machine have modification rights for the Windows temp folder.

To apply modification rights to the temp folder, right-click the temp folder, click Properties, select the Security tab, and then select the Allow Modify option for the selected or added user or group. The location of the folder depends on the Windows operating system. The following describes the process used to access the files:.
